When you are ready to step up to Brushless and LiPo power for your Traxxas E-Maxx, E-Revo, or other 1/8-scale buggy or truggy, start off with a SPECS S8A-RTR Electronic Speed Controller. The S8A-RTR is designed for LiPo only, from 2S to 4S. You can tailor the ESC to match your vehicle and running conditions by way of multiple user-selectable settings like running mode, drag brake force, start control (punch), and braking force. The built-in voltage cut-off is also user selectable based on how many battery cells you are using. One-button radio setup will have you driving in no time.

The S8A-RTR ESC has a maximum output of 80-amps and an input voltage range from 7.4v up to 14.8v. That means you can run a 2S LiPo for backyard fun, a 3S LiPo for more punch, or a 4S LiPo for racing and speed runs. Large 4mm gold bullet plugs are pre-installed. The large cooling heatsink gets added airflow thanks to a built-in cooling fan. The cooling fan itself is protected from damage by the vented ESC case. An optional Quick-Set programming card is available that allows you to make additional ESC parameter adjustments on the fly (such as motor timing advance) without having to use a separate PC laptop or complicated button patterns.
